D\u2019abord un EP, <strong>Koteja<\/strong> (1982), puis dans la foul\u00e9e, l\u2019album <strong>Kinshasa \u2013 Washington D.C. \u2013 Paris<\/strong> (1983), qui retrace le parcours de Lema jusqu\u2019\u00e0 son arriv\u00e9e en France. Entre afro-funk et rumba, toujours avec quelques touches \u00e9lectro, et de nombreuses influences parsem\u00e9es \u00e7\u00e0 et l\u00e0, jusqu\u2019au Br\u00e9sil. La plupart des morceaux sont devenus des standards de Lema, qui les remixe r\u00e9guli\u00e8rement en versions nouvelles, comme Yalelo, repris en duo de piano avec Laurent de Wilde sous le titre Congo Rag en 2016 sur l\u2019album Riddles.
