Mais le groupe ne prendra v\u00e9ritablement forme qu\u2019en 1973, apr\u00e8s leur rencontre avec le chanteur Winston Reid, qui deviendra leur leader vocal. Ils enregistrent plusieurs albums, m\u00ealant roots reggae et influences soul et rock. <strong>Maka<\/strong>, sorti en 1978 chez Polydor, s\u2019inscrit dans cette lign\u00e9e. L\u2019album contient entre autres <em>Mother Earth<\/em>, qui sera extrait en single et illustre leur engagement envers des th\u00e8mes conscients et universels. Tout au long de leur carri\u00e8re, les Cimarons joueront un r\u00f4le cl\u00e9 dans la diffusion du reggae en Europe, \u00e0 une \u00e9poque o\u00f9 le genre est encore largement domin\u00e9 par les productions jama\u00efcaines.
